It costs me more to take my family to the movies than it did to play in this tournament. And the tournament was more fun.

The tournament will set you back about $100 per round, close to what you’d probably pay for eighteen holes at a mainland club. For sheer pleasure, that’s a fantastic bargain. Better yet, you have the chance to win it all back, and then some.
Here’s
how your entry fees are broken down:
Contribution to the total purse:
$50 per player. All purse contributions are deposited in a segregated
account, and 100% of the contributions are paid out to the winners.
Processing fee: $22.50 per player. This covers such costs as processing your application, assigning your forecaddie, credit card discounts, advertising, and other administrative expenses.
Forecaddie fee: About $25 per player, with the fee split between four players who are playing together.
Forecaddie’s cart rental: About seven or eight dollars per player. Again, the cost is split between the four players who are together. You won’t be billed for this sum in advance, but will pay it when you meet your forecaddie on the course.
The liability of Maui Jackpot
Golf is limited in all cases, to the amount of the entry fees paid by
a participant and the participant will accept the refund as a full and
complete satisfaction of all liability.
My friends played and loved it. I wish I hadn’t waited so long
to enter—I couldn’t play.

Never break your putter and your driver in the same round or you’re
dead.
--Tommy Bolt
Why am I using a new putter? Because the last one didn’t float.
--Craig Stadler
Wow! Thanks for the new clubs. They’re great.
